Infertility — Overview
Infertility is the inability of a couple to conceive after 12 months of regular, unprotected sexual intercourse. It can affect both men and women and may be caused by hormonal imbalances, issues with the reproductive organs, lifestyle factors, or other underlying medical conditions. The most common causes include ovulation disorders, low sperm count or poor sperm quality, blocked fallopian tubes, endometriosis, and diminished fertility due to advanced age.
Prevention of Infertility — Description
While not all the causes of infertility can be prevented, many risk factors can be managed to improve reproductive health and reduce the likelihood of fertility problems.
Key Prevention Measures:
Healthy lifestyle:
Eat a diet containing adequate amounts of vitamins and minerals.
Avoid excessive strenuous activity, but do exercise regularly.
Maintain a healthy body weight; being overweight or underweight can hinder fertility.
Avoid noxious chemicals:
Do not smoke or use recreational drugs.
Avoid alcohol and caffeine in excess.
Avoid exposure to environmental toxins and radiation whenever possible.
Practice safe sex:
Use protection against sexually transmitted infections that can also damage the reproductive organs.
Get tested and treated for infections early.
Regular medical check-ups:

Manage chronic conditions, such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, or hormonal imbalances.
